Ross Campanella Drum Lessons
(Wednesdays)
Ross Campanella is a percussionist from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Ross has been a part of many ensembles that have traveled around the country and abroad. His musical talents have allowed him to perform in all kinds of venues from Carnegie Hall to Lucas Oil Stadium and even on the beaches of Normandy.
Since elementary school Ross has been performing in bands and orchestras for both school and private ensembles. Ross was the principal percussionist for the Lancaster Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as performing with the Lancaster Allstar Percussion Ensemble. In High School Ross participated in America Music Abroad and toured through France, Germany, and Austria performing in towns and churches, and most notably in the Normandy American Cemetery.
Ross completed his Bachelors of Arts in Music at The Pennsylvania State University as well as completing a Professional Performance Certificate in Percussion. During his time there he studied under Dan Armstrong, Gifford Howarth, and Lee Hinkle. At Penn State Ross was a part of all of the wind ensembles, the philharmonic orchestra, as well as the percussion ensemble, mallet ensemble, and the Blue Band.
Ross also performed with local ensembles like The Nittany Valley Symphony, The Williamsport Symphony, The Hershey Symphony, The West Shore Symphony, and was a soloist with the Northern Appalachian Wind Symphony.
Ross has extensive experience in the marching arts from marching with The Raiders, The White Sabers, and The Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps as well as with the Penn State Blue Band. He won best percussion with the Buccaneers in 2024. He also directs percussion for the Garden Spot High School Marching Band and previously taught the Hughesville High School Marching Band.
